These designs are all derived from my own handcrafted crystalline forms. I bathe them in polarized light and then begin my search for the most intriguing compositions I can find in each one. With this process no two forms are ever the same, much like snowflakes. Although there are combinations of ingredients that can be used time and again, the forming of these hidden jewels remains completely random. Vibrant color comes in to play as light passes through the prism structures of each formation. It’s kaleidoscopic kismet and it reveals completely unique images every time. Because of this phenomenon none of the images can be naturally replicated, and the possibilities are infinite. We believe applications for this new art form (besides gallery art) might include: many forms of surface design such as textiles for fashion or home décor. Many would be excellent for ceramic or glass tiles, screen savers, countertops, printed materials, and more. Throughout my life it seems I have been fascinated with the treasures I’ve found in nature. A devoted beachcomber, who was always looking for that truly extraordinary seashell, and the most interesting piece of driftwood, beach glass, or dried seaweed. I have trekked through forests and deserts as well, captivated by twisted roots and unusual rocks.
